I met Ricardo and his amazing family in Cuba 2 weeks ago. I needed some help with information and I found him walking down the streets. The way he helped me and my family for the whole time that we were in Cuba made our time there way easier and more special than we could ever imagined. He introduced me to his family, showed me the place they live and also told me about all the difficulties that the country has passed over the last years, specially regarding food and money.
I was really sad when he told me that, because of the sanctions, having a fridge at home is a luxury for a few people, and that sometimes the only food they had was getting bad the next morning and they needed to throw it away. That made me realize how living in Canada is a privilege and that I needed to do something for help them getting a fridge, so his family don't need to be concerned about losing food anymore.
I am asking everyone to donate whatever you can, because all the help will be forwarded directly to Ricardo and his family for Christmas or even before, if we reach the amount sooner.
